A Case Study in System-Based Analysis: The ThreeBallot Voting System and Prêt à Voter

چکیده
Threat analysis of voting systems is a field of increasing interest. While it is important to verify the system itself, it has been found that certain vulnerabilities only become apparent when taking a “systembased” view, i.e. considering interactions between the various components of a scheme. In this paper we apply a model for system-based analysis to carry out a systematic threat analysis of the ThreeBallot voting system and Prêt à Voter.

End-to-end veriable voting with Prêt à Voter
Transparent and verifiable elections can be achieved by end-to-end verifiable electronic voting systems. The purpose of such systems is to enable voters to verify the inclusion of their vote in the final tally while keeping the votes secret. Achieving verifiability and secrecy at the same time is hard and this thesis explores the properties of verifiable electronic voting systems and describes ...

some applications are critical and must designed Fault Tolerant System. Usually Voting Algorithm is one of the principle elements of a Fault Tolerant System. Two kinds of voting algorithm are used in most applications, they are majority voting algorithm and weighted average algorithm these algorithms have some problems. متن کاملTear and Destroy: Chain voting and destruction problems shared by Prêt à Voter and Punchscan and a solution using Visual Encryption
Prêt à Voter and Punchscan are two electronic voting schemes that both use paper based ballot forms, part of which is detached and destroyed, to provide receipt-free voter verifiability. However, both schemes share the chain voting problem and the part destruction problem. The first is where anyone who can see the ballot form before it is used can coerce a voter who uses it and the latter where...
متن کاملAutomated Anonymity Verification of the ThreeBallot Voting System
In recent years, a large number of secure voting protocols have been proposed in the literature. Often these protocols contain flaws, but because they are complex protocols, rigorous formal analysis has proven hard to come by. Rivest’s ThreeBallot voting system is important because it aims to provide security (voter anonymity and voter verifiability) without requiring cryptography. In this pape...
